Malaise Traps
The Malaise trap was introduced to the entomological community in the 1930s by Swedish entomologist Dr. René Malaise. It's an insect flight intercept trap, usually in a tent-like structure with a sloping roof and vertical baffle of mesh netting that channels flying insects, particularly those in the orders Hymenoptera and Diptera, into a collecting bottle filled with preservative solution.
