Emergence Traps

Emergence traps collect insects from the pupal stage in soil, plant tissue, or water.  As the adult insects emerge, they crawl or fly up through a funnel into a collection container that prevents them from escaping.  Emergence traps may be used for particular groups of insects, such as aquatic insects or other soil emergence insects.
