Insect Aspirators

Insect aspirators, aka pooters, are devices that draw small insects into the collecting chamber by applying suction force through a tubing system.  Their noninvasive nature allows researchers to collect live specimens without harming them.  This is especially helpful for fragile or difficult-to-handle specimens such as ants, mosquitoes, flies, parasitoid wasps, and aphids.
