Flight Interception Traps

A Flight Interception Trap (FIT) is a passive insect sampling device designed for capturing flying taxa such as Diptera, Coleoptera, and Hymenoptera.  It features a vertical mesh barrier that redirects insects into collection trays with preservative fluids.  FITs are widely used in biodiversity surveys, ecological monitoring, and conservation research.  Lightweight and easy to deploy, they enable standardized insect monitoring and the collection of insect species, enhancing entomological studies.
